Bombay
A mini black panther who fits right in your lap — sleek, shiny, and stunning!
Amazing Fun Fact!
The Bombay cat was invented on purpose! In the 1950s, a breeder named Nikki Horner wanted to create a miniature black panther you could keep as a pet. She crossed a Burmese cat with an American Shorthair and after years of work — ta-da! The Bombay was born.

All About the Bombay 📖
Bombay cats look exactly like tiny black panthers — jet black from the tip of their nose to the end of their tail, with bright copper-gold eyes that glow like lanterns. They were specifically bred to look like wild panthers, but their personality is 100% loving house cat. Bombay cats are warm, affectionate, and love being the center of attention. Their sleek black coat is incredibly shiny and doesn't shed very much, which is a bonus for cat parents!
The Bombay cat is one of the few cat breeds that was created on purpose with a very specific goal in mind — to make a cat that looks like a tiny black panther! Breeder Nikki Horner spent years in the 1950s and 60s carefully breeding Burmese cats with American Shorthairs until she achieved the perfect panther-like look. She named the breed after Bombay (now Mumbai), India — home of the black leopard.
Despite their wild panther appearance, Bombay cats are complete softies at heart. They love cuddles, lap time, and being carried around. They are also very smart and can learn tricks quickly — some Bombay cats can even learn to play fetch or open doors!
Bombay cats have some of the most striking eyes in the cat world. Their eyes come in shades of copper and gold that seem to glow, which looks absolutely magical against their jet-black fur. They also have a unique voice — their meow is softer and more musical than most cats. If you want a cat that looks like a wild panther but acts like a loving best friend, the Bombay is your perfect match! 🖤
